Trust, is just so important to maintain a long lasting friendship, it is the core to all relationships that we make. As I age in this world, I find it harder to trust the people around me. Even in college life, I can't really trust people I sit next to everyday, can't even imagine how the working life would be. Even at such a stage, where people aren't really competing to accomplish something, some people would just turn around and back-stab you.
After 21 years of living, I just found out the hard way that people can't be trusted easily, especially those that I've just met. I've always been the happy-go-lucky type for the past 20 years I guess, never really got into trouble because of this. Lately, I've just messed things up really bad just by telling the wrong person an important information, although I thought he was a person I could trust. After knowing him for about a couple of months or so, I started to open myself, hoping to be able to share my problems, but this instead got me into a deep hole of trouble. You can call me naive but I used to trust people very easily. Everybody just seem so nice and friendly on the outside.
I takes years for a person to earn their trust, knowing this, I will definitely treasure those people that I still trust now. Its like they say "Friendship is like a book. It takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write." Hope our friendship and trust will last.
